Mawae listed as probable

In a surprising move, Jets center Kevin Mawae, who is nursing a broken bone in his right hand, is listed as "probable" on the injury report for the team's game this Sunday at Miami.<p>

On Monday, Mawae was listed as questionable, but on Wednesday, Jets coach Herman Edwards upgraded the Pro Bowl center.

The "probable" listing means that there is a 75 percent chance Mawae will play.

"I practiced today and it felt fine," said Mawae on Wednesday.

As far as Dolphins middle linebacker Zach Thomas is concerned, it was never it doubt whether Mawae was going to play.

"I know he is playing, but is he going to wear a cast?" asked Thomas. "He probably put stick'em on the cast and hold like he always does."

If Mawae can't go, the Jets will likely start Jonathan Goodwin at center.

With the Dolphins best defensive tackle, Tim Bowens, listed as "out" for this game, it might be a good week to start Goodwin if Mawae isn't truly healthy.
