The Jets will likely be without both starting guards when they play the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday.
Both left guard Pete Kendall (broken toe) and Brandon Moore
(pulled hamstring) were injured in the Jets win over Buffalo. Kendall stayed in the Bills game, and Moore was replaced by Jonathan Goodwin
. Kendall has already been ruled out of the 49ers game, while Moore is listed as doubtful. Kendall could miss up to three weeks according to an NFL source. Moore is week-to-week. Starting for Kendall will be Goodwin, and if Moore can't go, last year's starting right guard Brent Smith
will get the call.
Expect the Jets to sign guard Dave "Yogi" Yovanovits off the practice squad to provide depth, and re-sign guard Jason Nerys to the practice squad.
If the Jets have to go with a combination of Goodwin and Smith at guard on Sunday, they should be able to get by against the 49ers, who are all banged-up on the defensive line.
