Jets Notes

Herman Edwards will not require players to wear pads in practice the rest of the season. This is part of his effort to keep the team fresh. Last season the team wore out down the stretch . . . Last week cornerback Marcus Coleman was demoted in the first quarter to nickel back after being late for two meetings. This week he will be one of the team's two captains. Kerry Jenkins will be the other . . .

. . . The Jets offensive line has not allowed a sack in the last three games and just six this season .

...The Jets are still undecided about whether Aaron Glenn will play this week. He is listed as questionable with a knee injury. "He's okay, but he still maybe a little gimpy," Edwards said. "He may be able to go and he might not." Glenn was limited in practice on Wednesday and will try to do more on Thursday. Even if he plays, he will not start. He will serve as a nickel back .

The Bills long injury list got an addition on Thursday when cornerback Antoine Winfield as added with a knee injury. The Bills have a total of ten players on the injury report. Their defensive line is particularly banged up . . . The addition of Nick Ferguson to the secondary at free safety should add some big hits to the Jets arsenal. "He is one of the most fearless hitters we have on the team," Aaron Glenn said.
