Jets update

<P><STRONG>Steve Martin </STRONG>suffered a hyperextended elbow against Buffalo, but he should be able to play with a brace against the Raiders . . .

Eric Ogbogu has a hip injury and is listed as questionable. But the Jets should be in good shape at defensive end because John Abraham's groin is much better and he's not on the injury report. Abraham was voted to the Pro Bowl along with Kevin Mawae and Curtis Martin . . .

Damien Robinson has been upgraded to questionable with a knee injury. He will try to run on Wednesday and practice on Thursday. If he can't go Nick Ferguson will start. That wouldn't be terrible news because Ferguson played well in the place of Robinson against Buffalo. He led the Jets in tackles . . .

Herman Edwards on the relationship between Vinny Testaverde and Paul Hackett – "He's the player and Paul is the coach," Edwards said . . . Vinny Testaverde is angry with the media for how his comments from Sunday and Monday were portrayed in the media . . . Edwards doesn't understand how some writers can say the season is over. The New York Post had a backpage headline that stated, "Put a fork in them." "We haven't lost the game, last time I checked," Edwards said. The Jets are 6-1 on the road this season. "We've done pretty good on the road," Edwards said. "We need to do this. It will be a big step for us to do this." . . . The Chargers still haven't contacted the Jets about Ted Cottrell . . .
