"He has a long road to hoe," said Jets coach Herman Edwards. "He is slowly but surely getting better."
Bryan Thomas has done a solid job filling in for Abraham, and this allows the team to take their time bringing Abraham back.
Thomas made a lot more plays in his first start for Abraham against Houston than he did in his second start against Seattle. There is a good reason for that. He was being blocked by the Seahawks All-Pro left tackle Walter Jones.
Abraham will likely return for the first round of the playoffs if the Jets make the second season.
