Pennington update

Jets quarterback Chad Pennington was sent home from practice on Wednesday.<p>

Pennington has a stomach virus. He caught it from his son. The Jets are giving him IV's, and expect him to play on Saturday against Pittsburgh.

"I will be shocked if he doesn't play," said Jets coach Herman Edwards. "He'll be ready to go."

In other quarterback news, Jets backup quarterback Quincy Carter left the team on Tuesday to be with his ailing mother, so Brooks Bollinger is expected to handle the #2 quarterback role this week. That means if Pennington can't play, Bollinger will start.
