Putzier signs offer sheet

The Jets signed Denver tight end Jeb Putzier to $12.5 million offer sheet, with a $2.5 million bonus. Denver has until Friday to match the offer.<p>

If the Broncos do not match, Putzier will join the Jets and Denver will get a sixth-round choice in the 2005 draft. The Broncos recently signed the restricted free agent to a sixth round tender ($656,000).

"I felt Jeb's value was better than a low tender offer and we wanted to see what the market bared," said Putzier's agent, Joe Linta. "We're happy with this and we're interested to see how the Broncos respond. He does like playing there."

Putzier had 36 catches for 582 yards last season.
