Dilger will not be a Jet

The Jets search for a tight end continues.<p>

According to an NFL source, free agent tight end Ken Dilger, a player the Jets were interested in signing, is considering retirement.

Dilger, who is 34, has battled injuries the last few years.

He also wants no part of playing in New York.

With former Jets tight end Anthony Becht signing with Tampa Bay on Monday (to replace Dilger), the team is now down to two tight ends - Chris Baker and long-snapper James Dearth.

Unless they make a run at former Detroit Lions tight end Stephen Alexander, they might now have to wait until the draft to address this need.
