Team Doc Pellman resume questioned by the NY Times

"Dr.(Elliott) Pellman has said repeatedly in biographical statements that he has a medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook," wrote Duff Wilson in the New York Times.

"But Dr. Pellman attended medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico, and he received a medical degree from the New York State Education Department after a one-year residency at SUNY Stony Brook, state records show. He does not hold an M.D. from Stony Brook, according to Dan Rosett, a university hospital spokesman."

The Jets issued a statement responding to the New York Times report:

"Dr. Pellman has communicated an oversight on his resume, and we have acknowledged the clarification, and it will be reflected in future correspondences. We are thankful to have Dr. Pellman leading our medical department, and stand firmly behind him."

Pellman also issued a statement:

"I am proud of my record as an advocate for athletes' healthcare. I regret the discrepancies that were cited in today's New York Times and they will be corrected. I appreciate the support of my patients, NY Jets, NY Islanders, New York Dragons, NFL and MLB."
