LB to visit Jets

With the departures of Jason Glenn and Sam Cowart this off-season, the Jets are in need of some linebacker depth.<p>

So expect them to add a linebacker or two in this draft.

This week San Diego State outside linebacker Matt McCoy will visit the Jets.

McCoy is considered a third or fourth round talent. He is a 6-0, 230 pounder with 4.6 speed.

McCoy is a very instinctive player, who might be undersized, but makes a lot of plays. He is considered one of the better coverage linebackers in the draft.

If the Jets added him, he would instantly become one of their core special teams players. He has the earmarks of a player who will be outstanding on kick and punt coverage on the NFL level.

McCoy left San Diego State after his junior year. Herman Edwards knows a lot about McCoy. Edwards' son Marcus, is a wide receiver for the Aztecs, and the Jets coach spends a lot of time around the program.
