Abraham retires/Jets trade for Hunter

Jets cornerback Donnie Abraham has decided to retire and the team moved quickly to secure another corner to take his place.

The veteran cornerback was mulling retirement this off-season, and missed a big chunk of the Jets off-season program.

But Jets coach Herman Edwards talked him into coming back briefly and Abraham attended the team's June OTA's.

But after further thought, Abraham has decided to end his career after 10 years in the NFL.

This decision led the Jets to send an undisclosed late round draft pick to the Dallas Cowboys for cornerback Pete Hunter. This trade will be official if he passes a physical on Thursday.

The Jets have expressed some interest in free agent cornerback Ty Law, but right now he is out of their price range.
