Law still not signed

As of 8:00 a.m. Eastern time Monday morning, the Jets still hadn't signed cornerback Ty Law.

Negotiations continue between Law's agent Carl Poston and Jets contract guru Mike Tannenbaum.

Law still hasn't worked out for the Jets, or taken a physical.

Poston and Tannenbaum last met on Sunday night on Long Island, but still have a few details to work out.

Since the contract will contain many incentives, it's a somewhat complicated deal, so that is why it's taking so long. The Jets want to be protected in case Law re-injures his problematic foot. Law wants the chance to earn extra money if he's able to stay on the field.

But it's still possible that Law could be introduced as a Jet on Monday. The public relations department needs just one hour lead time to set up a press conference.
