Pennington in-game quotes

While the game was still in full swing, Chad Pennington discussed the touchdown drive in the second quarter, his shoulder and playing in a real game.

What can you tell us about the touchdown drive?

Chad Pennington: It was nice to spread the ball around, and get a drive going. We stopped ourselves on the first few drives.

What did the overthrow to Justin McCareins tell you about your shoulder?

Chad Pennington: I've got a good shoulder. It just proves to me I have a good shoulder. When I let it go, I was just trying to put it out there and I even surprised myself with how far I threw it. That is probably the first time I overthrew a receiver in three years, so I'm not displeased with that throw at all.

What do you get out of game, as opposed to practice?

Chad Pennington: You can't replace getting game experience. Practice only does so much. Going through game situations, that is what it's all about. That is why I believe in playing in the preseason and trying to get the feel for the opener.
