Jets injury update

Jets starting tailback Curtis Martin returned to practice on Thursday.

Martin, who suffered a strained knee against Miami, looked good running in practice.

Jets fullbacks Jerald Sowell and B.J. Askew, who are both nursing ankle injuries, both returned to practice on Thursday. Sowell is more likely to play than Askew, who is also dealing with an elbow injury.

Safety Erik Coleman, who has surgery for a dislocated thumb on Monday, returned to practice on Thursday wearing a bulky cast on his right hand. He is listed as questionable, and his status is up in the air.

Defensive end Trevor Johnson will likely sit out his second straight game with a concussion.
