Law and McCareins downgraded

The Jets got some bad news on the injury front on Friday.

Cornerback Ty Law and wide receiver Justin McCareins were downgraded from probable to questionable.

Law, who suffered a back injury against Buffalo, is still feeling stiffness. He attempted to practice on Friday, but had to pull himself out. If he can't start, rookie Justin Miller would take over.

McCareins was listed as probable on Thursday with a minor knee ailment. Then on Friday, he pulled a calf muscle in practice, and was downgraded to questionable. If he can't go, either Wayne Chrebet or Jerricho Cotchery will get the start. The Jets might have to sign a wide receiver off their practice squad if McCareins can't play. Without him, they only have three wideouts.
