Jets sign defensive tackle

On Wednesday, the Jets added a defensive tackle with good potential.

They signed former Colorado standout Matt McChesney to their practice squad.

He was with the St. Louis Rams this summer, but got sick, and was released. He signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent.

He had 11 sacks during his career with the Buffalo's.

McChesney can play either nose tackle or the three technique tackle. He is 6-4, 315 pounds, and runs the forty in the 5.0 area.

The Jets need a big nose tackle to play next to Dewayne Robertson, and McChesney could be a candidate in the future.
