Jets make four roster moves

The Jets made four roster moves on Thursday.

The signed defensive Matt McChesney to the active roster. He is a rookie defensive tackle from Colorado, who was a seventh round pick of the St. Louis Rams. This move as made because defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson is battling a quad injury, and is questionable.

The make room for McChesney on the regular roster, the Jets finally put quarterback Jay Fiedler on the injured reserve. Fiedler had shoulder surgery last week.

Running back Terry Butler was elevated from the practice squad to the regular roster. This move was made for depth purposes with starting tailback Curtis Martin out for the year following knee surgery. Butler is an excellent special teams player.

To replace Butler on the practice squad, the Jets signed fullback Luke Lawton. The McNeese State product has bounced between the regular roster and the practice squad this year.
