Post game Q-and-A with Herm Edwards

Q)Your impressions of the game?

Edwards: We put ourselves in position to win at halftime. In the second half, we were in position until we suffered the turnover. We had an opportunity at the end, but we couldn't quite get it done. They got momentum in the second half, scoring on their last two possessions. On the first score, we had a safety in position and he fell down. They made a good catch and run on the second touchdown.

Q)What was your thinking when you kicked the field goal in the fourth quarter?

Edwards: It was 4th-and-12 and I knew we had time and time outs left. I didn't think it was smart to go for [a touchdown] at that point considering we had enough time left. It worked out for us. We got the ball down there and we had a chance to score, we just didn't get it done. It wasn't about plays, it was about making a play.

Q)Are you surprised Brooks Bollinger passed for 300 yards and you didn't win?

Edwards: Generally, when you throw for a lot in this league you're behind on the scoreboard. They blitzed us a lot today so we had some opportunities in the passing game. We had some one-on-ones. We did a good job protecting him, Brooks (Bollinger) got the ball out of his hands and our receivers made some good plays. They must have felt that Brooks couldn't beat them throwing. Brooks played well, he played his heart out. We just fell a little short.

Q)Did this game epitomize your season, losing three-four late in the game?

Edwards: We've has opportunities late in games this year, but we haven't been able to quite get it done. We have to get better. We have to get better on the road. We have two home games left. We can win those and give us some momentum.
