Chrebet to retire

Wayne Chrebet is going to retire.

Chrebet suffered another concussion this year, against San Diego, and that was the final straw. He has suffered several head injuries going back to his days playing for Hofstra.

He finishes his 11-year Jets career with 580 catches.

"I'm not going to get back on the field. I think everybody's aware of that," said Chrebet. "It's just a weird thing you don't want to accept. I've had a lot of time at home with my kids and that's been great. It's something I've always looked forward to. The rest is dealing with not having this in my life anymore."
