Jets begin coaching search

With disgruntled Herman Edwards now officially the Kansas City Chiefs coach, the Jets begin their search for a new coach.

Jets GM Terry Bradway will head up the search.

Heading the Jets list of candidates is former Green Bay Packers coach Mike Sherman. Also in the mix are former Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Tice and former New Orleans Saints coach Jim Haslett.

A person the Jets also want to meet with is New England Patriots defensive coordinator Eric Mangini. But he's only 35, and considering how much Bill Belichick disrespects the Jets organization, why would you hire his protege?

Bradway is also going to interview their coordinators Donnie Henderson (defense) and Mike Heimerdinger (offense). Henderson has no chance at the job.

Bradway will also interview two good friends -former St. Louis Rams coach Joe Vitt and former XFL coach Jim Skipper.
