Jets interested in top safety

The Jets are bringing in one of the draft's top safeties for a visit.

Tennessee safety Jason Allen will be visiting the Jets before the draft.

Allen is considered a second or third round-type prospect.

But if it wasn't for a serious hip injury in college, he probably would have been a first round consideration. A dislocated hip ended his senior season prematurely.

However, he was a tremendous player in 2004, and if he can get back to that form, he could turn into a star on the next level.

The Jets might be able to grab him with one of their two third round picks.
