Lowdown on the fourth round picks

Here is John Murphy's take on the Jets fourth round picks:

"Brad Smith is a Versatile weapon that gives the Jets their own version of "Slash." He played quarterback throughout his college career, but was tried at wide receiver in several post-season workouts. He is a bright kid with good size, 4.6 range speed and showed the necessary athleticism to transfer out to the receiver position. He also caught kicks and punts in his workouts, so he could also be tried on special teams.

"Leon Washington is an excellent value pick for the Jets. He can contribute on returns and as a receiver out of the backfield initially, and also offers them a guy who can take the ball outside for some long gains. He was given a first-round type grade last spring." "According to Washington, who I spoke to after his selection, 'This is just great. It still really has not set in for me just too excited to think right now... I trained in New Jersey at the Parisi Center... my agents are from New York and they got my boy Coles who is from Florida State and Jacksonville", explained Washington, who was home sharing the moment with his family and friends.'"
