The New York Jets announced today they have signed their second-round selection in the 2006 NFL Draft, quarterback Kellen Clemens.
Clemens, a 6-2, 223-pound quarterback from the University of Oregon, was selected in the second round with the 49th overall pick. Clemens concluded his Ducks career with 7,555 yards while completing 61 percent of his passes. Clemens posted a 61 to 24 touchdown to interception ration while at Oregon and added 535 yards with six touchdowns on the ground.
Clemens' 7,555 passing yards rank third in Ducks history and his 8,090 yards in total offense also rank third. Excelling as a poised leader, A Burns, Oregon, native, Clemens prides himself in taking care of the football, tossing multiple INT only four times in his 39 career games at Oregon.
