The Jets announced have signed fifth round draft choice Jonathan Goodwin and rookie free agent Kahmal Roy.
Goodwin, a 6-3, 318-pound guard from the University of Michigan was the 154th overall choice in the April NFL Draft. He was a two-year starter for the Wolverines, after transferring to Michigan from Ohio University in 1998. Goodwin appeared in 29 games at Michigan, starting 20, as well as starting all 11 games as a freshman for Ohio in 1997.
Roy, a native of Hempstead, NY, was a three-year starter at Hofstra University. The 6-2, 205-pound wide receiver played in 44 games, starting 36, and totaled 152 catches for 2,442 yards and 25 touchdowns over his four-year career. His school-record 1,221 receiving yards in 2001 broke Jets' receiver Wayne Chrebet's previous record of 1,200, set in 1994.
Goodwin is the third of the Jets' five draft picks to come to terms.
