Pennington Sizzles on Family Night

QB Chad Pennington had a terrific practice last night at the annual Pepsi New York Family Night

He was sharp with his passes and had an impressive stretch of completions. Coach Herm Edwards said that Pennington went out there firing, and wasn't overanalyzing, which has been a problem for him in the past…RB-KR Chad Morton has also been impressing the Jets coaching staff this summer, and Edwards says he will be involved in both the offense and special teams this season…Edwards had a list of players he felt were having good training camps, which included Santana Moss, Jonathan Goodwin, Dan Goodspeed, Little John Flowers, Jason Ferguson, Josh Evans, Shaun Ellis, Andrew Davison, Joe Cooper, Ray Mickens, DeAngelo Lloyd and Chris BakerEdwards said he likes LB Joe Cooper's athletic ability and skills in special teams…LB James Darling has been great on special teams again this summer. Last season Edwards gave him an award as the best special team player on the Jets…DT Jason Ferguson said his shoulders feel great and he is 100% healthy again. He is enjoying playing for Herm Edwards and said, "Herm brings out the good in everybody."…QB Vinny Testaverde might be able to return to practice as early as tomorrow, after injuring his thumb earlier in the week…LB Sam Cowart continues to be held out of practices, and Edwards said "he's coming along, but I'm not taking any chances with him."…On a lighter note, several Jets players pulled a practical joke on Coach Edwards last night. Dave Szott, Testaverde, Laveranues Coles, Kevin Mawae, Randy Thomas, Jason Glenn and Sam Cowart were all supposed to take a separate bus reserved for injured players to last nights practice. Instead the players arrived in a stretch limousine. Coach Edwards enjoyed the joke, but fined each of the players $100.
