In the off season he worked out with legendary strength and conditioning coach Mackie Shilstone in New Orleans. He is now in the best shape of his life, and it's showing in his play on the field. Coach Herm Edwards had great things to say about Ferguson at his press conference this morning. "He's quick. What I like about him is that he's the agitator. The guy always talks. I like that. I like hearing guys. He's getting better every day."…Edwards said he will use both Santana Moss and Chad Morton on the field at the same time, for punt returns…If the Jets can't resolve their guard situation in-house, they are going to look to pick up someone on the free agent market. Two likely candidates would be former Raven Jeff Blackshear, and former Redskin Matt Campbell…Practice this afternoon was reserved for the special teams unit, and NFL referees attended practice to demonstrate rules and rule changes. No pads were worn…The Jets are very high on Indiana rookie cornerback Marcus Floyd. He's quick, tough and a good special teamer. His teammates have nicknamed him "Sleapy" after the former Georgetown point guard. He's wearing number 31, and he's so fast, sometimes you wonder if your looking at former Jet Aaron Glenn, from a speed standpoint.
