Colts injury analysis

The Colts are a very banged-up team. Here is an in-depth look at their injury situation:

Starting WR Reggie Wayne practiced for a second straight day Friday and is expected to start. Wayne's availability for the Jets contest was uncertain earlier in the week due to the recent death of his older brother, Rashad. Rashad Wayne, 32, was killed in a traffic accident near the family's home in Kenner, La. last Sunday. Reggie Wayne returned to Louisiana Sunday evening to be with his family and did not return to Indianapolis until Thursday morning. He took part in Thursday afternoon's practice and went through a full practice session Friday morning.

#3 WR Brandon Stokley (ankle-questionable) missed practice again Friday and likely won't play with #4 WR Aaron Moorehead filling in Sunday.

K Adam Vinatieri (right groin-questionable) was able to get some work in as the Indianapolis Colts continue to prepare for Sunday's road game with the Jets.

"Adam kicked quite a bit (Friday) and kicked pretty well. We'll see how he comes in (Saturday) morning. But he's pretty set on kicking. So we'll see what happens," said head coach Tony Dungy after Friday's practice. Backup K Martin Gramatica remains on the roster but could be released Saturday afternoon if Vinatieri kicks well tomorrow.

Starting ORT Ryan Diem (thumb/groin-questionable) returned to practice Friday.

"Ryan actually ran and did some things and felt pretty good. We kept him out of practice. I'd say he's still questionable, but the word was good. He felt better," Dungy said.

Gs Dylan Gandy (abdomen-questionable) and Ryan Lilja (knee-questionable) practiced Friday.

"We do have a little bit better feel on some guys. (Backup CB) Kelvin Hayden (groin-questionable) really got through okay. (Backup DE) Josh Thomas sat out (hip-questionable), but (team trainers) expecting him to go. (Backup DT) Darrell Reid (elbow-questionable) did better (Friday) in practice and was able to go. Our guards, Dylan and Ryan Lilja, did well and if they don't have any setbacks, it looks like they'll be able to go. So that's all positive," Dungy said.

Starting DT Montae Reagor (knee) isn't listed on the injury report but missed Wednesday's practice. However, he returned to practice Thursday and is expected to start. Backup DT Corey Simon (knee) remains out and likely for at least three more weeks.

Starting FS Bob Sanders (knee/thigh) is out. Rookie SS Antoine Bethea is expected to start for him again and backup S Mike Doss starts for Bethea at SS.

Starting CB Nick Harper (ankle/groin-questionable) missed practice again Friday and likely won't be able to play with backup CB Marlin Jackson filling in.
