Jaguars injury report analysis

The Jets will be facing a Jaguar team on Sunday that will be sans two key starters.

Starting DT Marcus Stroud (right ankle/groin-out) and starting WR Matt   Jones (hamstring/groin-out) are being held out Sunday to allow a full three weeks to completely heal in between games, with Jacksonville's bye coming next week.

Jones will be replaced in the lineup by backup WR Ernest Wilford.

Starting DE Rob Meier will move inside to start for Stroud. With Meier back inside, backup DE Bobby McCray would start where Meier has been.

Backup DE Marcellus Wiley (groin) was also downgraded to out from doubtful on Thursday. He'll miss his third straight game.

Starting FB Derrick Wimbush (knee) returned to practice Thursday and Friday for the first time since being injured Sept. 18 vs. Pittsburgh. He's missed the last two games and was upgraded Thursday was doubtful to questionable and should start.

Four starters - CB Rashean Mathis (knee-probable), SS Donovin Darius (knee-probable), RG Chris Naeole (knee-probable), and SLB Nick Greisen(ankle-probable) - are also listed on the injury report, but each practiced fully Thursday and Friday and are expected to start after resting Wednesday. Mathis, Darius, and Naeole have all been hobbled the past few weeks, but haven't missed any game-time. Greisen sprained his ankle in Washington.
