Jets Plagued by Injury Bug

An MRI on DT Larry Webster's bruised right knee did not reveal a patella tendon injury, as expected, but did show a quad tendon strain

Webster will be out for a couple of weeks, and DT Josh Evans will move into the starting tackle spot, a move that was expected to be made when the season began…CB Jamie Henderson will have to wear a harness for his shoulder for a couple of weeks before he can begin rehabbing. That could leave him out of action for three weeks. The dime back spot will be filled by either CB Andrew Davison or S Jon McGraw, both rookies. Henderson feels he will be ready for the season opener in Buffalo, but the Jets aren't saying exactly when he'll return…DE John Abraham will try and jog today, but when a reporter asked Herm Edwards if Abraham was ahead of schedule, he said, "I don't know if he's ahead of schedule or not."…C Kevin Mawae will try and practice with pads today, but the Jets aren't sure whether he'll play against the Giants this Saturday or not. Mawae has not participated in any contact drills this training camp.
