What is going on with Marcin?

The New York Daily News and Newark Star-Ledger both reported on Friday that defensive line coach Denny Marcin will not be offered a new contract.

But according to a Jets source, these stories might be jumping the gun.

"No final decision has been made on Denny," said the source. "He is under contract."

The Daily News and Star-Ledger reported that Marcin won't be back with the team, and this could still ultimately be the case, however the Jets source said it's too early to say the coach is leaving for sure.

"His status hasn't been determined," said the source.

It's possible that the veteran coach could retire.

But the source said that the reports by the two papers that assistant running back coach Sam Gash won't be offered a new contract, is accurate.

Also, the team will be looking for a new secondary coach because Corwin Brown was introduced as the new defensive coordinator Notre Dame on Friday.
