CB Jamie Henderson is also questionable. DT Larry Webster, DE Steve White, and RB LaMont Jordan are all probable. T Chris Smith is out.
The Jets offensive coaches know they have to stay out of second and long and third and long situations. That's when the Patriots defense is at its best. Paul Hackett said the offense has watched a lot of game film on the Patriots' defense, including last year's playoffs and Super Bowl games. They are very good at disguising their looks and rarely show you the same defense two plays in a row.
S Victor Green makes his return to the Meadowlands on Sunday, and has shown a lot of anger toward the Jets for letting him go.
"I hope he doesn't have any anger," said Herm Edwards. "We tried to get Victor back here. If he has anger, that is on his behalf. We wanted him back, and he knows that."
Edwards felt the Jets treated Green with respect and made him a fair offer. Green left the Jets, not wanting to take another pay cut, and wound up signing with the Patriots for less than the Jets had offered for him to stay.
Yesterday, the Jets decided to practice outside with the swirling winds and had a very unproductive afternoon. It was almost impossible to pass in the 30MPH winds that were reminiscent of a December game in the Meadowlands. The Jets scout teams struggled in practice Wednesday as well, because the patriots schemes are so complicated and difficult to emulate. The team got back on track today. WR Laveranues Coles had a very good practice, as did FS Damien Robinson, who had three interceptions. One of the passes Robinson picked was intended for RB Little John Flowers, who shouted, "How did he get over there so fast?"
