John Murphy on sixth rounder Jacob Bender

John Murphy: I liked this kid in the late 4th to 5th...

could be tried at either OT spot... moves well for his size... good power... smart kid... did well in 1-on-1's at his post-season game... ran 5.2 range at his Pro Day... good developmental kid... probably two years away...A three-year starter at left tackle who earned All-Southland Conference the past two years . . . turned heads with his on-field ability and again at his Pro Day workout where he put on an impressive performance, including a 5.12 40-time, 27 reps of 225 pounds and impressed interviews with his ability to learn and retain info on the board, as well . . . some teams compared him to Todd Herremans, who the Philadelphia Eagles selected a few years ago from a small Division II school, but has developed into a starting player for them in a short period of time.
