John Murphy on new Jets guard Robert Turner

Draft guru John Murphy thinks that the Jets latest signing, New Mexico guard Robert Turner, could turn out to be a decent player.

"He was standout guard who had a Top-10 rating at his position entering his senior campaign," said Murphy. "But a long-running injury to his wrist cost him to miss out on the NFL Combine. He did play well during the practices leading up to the East-West Shrine Game, and the doctors that performed the surgery said he should be 100% for the future after dealing with the sore wrist for two years.

"He is a big kid with a nice base and flashes a nasty streak on the field. He is Better as a run blocker, but he showed good quickness for his size when asked to get out of his stance and could further develop as a pass protector."
