Murphy thinks Bender could turn into starter

The Draft Bible's John Murphy is a big fan of the Jets sixth round pick Jacob Bender

Murphy: I liked Bender a lot. He can be like a small school version of Fabini He is tough, does not mind being a finisher. He's a bright kid and can probably be tried at right tackle and if necessary inside too.

But I would let him begin at left tackle first to see if he could handle the speed of the game. He is athletic enough to be in that Jeff Backus (Lion's LT) mold.

He's smart, aggressive, moves pretty well even against the I-A teams Nicholls State played.

He has very good tools for right tackle.

He was a solid choice where the Jets picked him. Some feel he can progress as fast as Todd Herremans did with the Eagles. Herremans was a D-II prospect that became a starter by Year Two.
