Rookie Darrelle Revis has had trouble holding to the ball on punt returns.
"(He) put a few too many of those on the ground," said Mangini. "He's got that same cold that Leon (Washington) had here early on." . . .
Mangini was asked which of the rookies have stood out at the OTA's.
"You'll see progress come as we move further and further and they get more comfortable with the coaches," said Mangini. " But I do like the way that they're all working together because it's a collective effort. They support each other well, and whether it's (Darrelle) Revis, (Chansi) Stuckey, (David) Harris or (Jacob) Bender or right on down the line."
That narrows it down . . .
The Jets are working Bender at both guard and tackle . . .
Expect a big role for linebacker David Bowens, who was signed as a free agent this off-season.
"In researching him, his ability to pick up new information has always been a strong point," said Mangini. "He is starting to get more and more into the mix." . . .
The Jets have their mandatory three-day mini-camp starting next Thursday. Will off-season contract holdout Pete Kendall be in attendance?
"I expect everybody to be here for that camp," said Mangini.
Kendall will likely be there so he doesn't get fined, but isn't happy with the Jets front office.
"Pete is extremely frustrated, disappointed and unhappy with the Jets' organization," Kendall's agent Neil Schwartz told the Star-Ledger . . .
Stuckey might be the Jets quickest wide receiver. He is very impressive in-and-out of his cuts.
"What I like about Chansi (Stuckey) is that he's got very good short area quickness, and that's what we liked in college and that's what we're seeing here," said Mangini . . .
The Baltimore Ravens signed defensive tackle Keyonta Marshall, who was unceremoniously dumped by the Jets without being given a chance to show what he could do in training camp . . .
Center Nick Mangold continues to be held out of most of the OTA activities with a mysterious ailment.
"He's rehabbing and participating where he can," said Mangini.
We just hope he doesn't have the Bubonic Plague . . .
