Just one week after losing to the New England Patriots, the Jets went down to Miami hoping to turn things around. Instead, they wound up getting trounced by the Dolphins 30-3.

For the second week in a row, the Jets were unable to get anything going offensively. Vinny Testaverde threw for just 125-yards, and committed three turnovers. His two first-half interceptions led to 10 Dolphin points and put the team in a hole they could not climb out of.

Credit Miami's defense for doing a terrific job all afternoon. The Jets attempted to get their running game going, but the Dolphins held Curtis Martin to just 43 yards on 16 carries. Even without star cornerback Patrick Surtain, who missed the game with a knee injury, the Jets could not get the ball downfield and into the hands of their wide outs.

Defensively, the Jets continue to struggle. They were able to put good pressure on quarterback Jay Fiedler, but gave up 188-yards to Miami running backs, 151 of those coming from Ricky Williams.

Here's some of the things Herman Edwards had to say after the game:

"Coming in here, we knew Miami was a good football team, but we thought we could play with them. During the first half, we turned the ball over a couple of times, but we held in there and kept the score close. In the second half, we didn't get going right away and lost some confidence. They ran the ball a little and executed some long drives. We haven't been able to score touchdowns offensively over the past couple of weeks and we have to get that corrected. We came in with a plan of getting Curtis (Martin) going and throw the football. Those things didn't happen and they beat us soundly. We were prepared to play, but we couldn't get it done.

(On the Jets run defense) "I think we played pretty good run defense. They didn't make any big runs on us and we were hanging in the game.  In the second half, we were not able to move the ball and get any confidence going. They kicked a field goal, we still couldn't make a play on offense and they drove the ball and Ricky  (Williams) broke his long run.

(On his team's readiness to play) "I thought we played tough in the first half. We had some bad things happen to us turnover wise in the first half. We didn't do anything positive on the offensive side of the ball in the second half. We couldn't get anything going to get back in the game.

(On his team's confidence) "We're probably a little shaky right now. I told them after the game we have to hang together. All we have is us. We'll go back to work. We have to practice better and play better. We have to do something different when the games start to get us going. We haven't been able to do that during the last two weeks on either side of the ball.

(On a possible change at quarterback) "No, I'm not even thinking about that. We're just trying to stay together and keep our focus. When you lose the way we have the past tow weeks it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. We just have to stay together and work through this."

With the loss, the Jets snap an eight game win streak against the Dolphins, and fall to 1-2 on the season. The division rival Dolphins and Patriots are both 3-0.
