Jets have issues at cornerback and guard

The Jets are quickly becoming very thin at cornerback and guard.

Not only is first round pick Darrelle Revis still holding out, but starting cornerback Andre Dyson missed his second straight practice.

During the Tuesday morning practice, Dyson was riding the stationary bike, instead of participating in football drills. The Jets aren't going to report what is wrong with him to the media, but he does have extra wrapping on his left ankle.

As for Revis, his holdout is now in Day Five. The Jets want him to sign a six-year contract, and his agent only wants to ink a five-year pact. It stands to reason that the Jets are hoping Revis eventually gets antsy and tells his agent he wants to get into camp and signs the team's offer. Revis knows he is missing valuable reps, and it's hurting his chances of contributing early in the season.

Also, at the morning practice, the Jets were without both of their starting guards from last year. Both Pete Kendall and Brandon Moore were sidelined. Kendall continues to battle a knee injury. He had a brace on his right knee while riding the stationary bike. Moore's injury was undisclosed, but he has battled hamstring problems over the last few seasons, so it could be related to that.

The starting guards in the morning practice were Adrian Jones and Adrien Clarke.
