Tannenbaum gets help - Johnson signs for six

What happened in Detroit and Arizona today, could help the Jets in their contract impasse with first round pick Darrelle Revis.

Wide receiver Calvin Johnson, the #2 overall pick in the 2007 draft, signed a six-year contract with the Detroit Lions.

Also on Friday, offensive tackle Levi Brown, the fifth pick overall, signed a six-year deal with Arizona Cardinals.

The Jets are attempting to get Revis, a cornerback they selected with the 14th pick in the draft, to sign a six-year contract. His agent Neil Schwartz insists on a five-year deal.

Schwartz feels that most first round picks are getting five-year contract, and that is he wants for his client.

But with Johnson, and Amobi Okoye, the #6 pick overall by Houston, getting six-year deals, this helps the Jets position.

At least you would think.
