Kendall passes physical and is now a Redskin

Guard Pete Kendall is officially a Washington Redskin.

The unfulfilled guard, who was traded this morning for a fifth round pick that could turn into a fourth rounder, passed his physical, and is now a Redskin.

"It wasn't necessarily an easy deal, but it was the right one," said Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum.

Did Kendall's comments ripping the team contribute to this trade?

"It wasn't about his comments," said Tannenbaum, "it was about what was in the best interest of the New York Jets."

Kendall signed a new two-year deal with the Redskins, that will net him at least $3 million this season. He was making $1.7 with the Jets, and was looking for a $1 million raise. The Jets refused to give it to him, and the situation turned into nasty tete-a-tete.
