Jets waive Clowney

The New York Jets have waived wide receiver David Clowney. The announcement was made by Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum. Maybe Tannenbaum will fill his roster spot with a pass rusher.

Clowney (6-0, 188, Virginia Tech) was signed to the Jets active roster on October 3 and was inactive for three games. He was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round (157th overall) of the 2007 draft. He was waived by Green Bay on Sept. 1 and then signed to their practice squad on Sept. 4.
