Will it be Will Montgomery?
Will it be Wade Smith?
The answer is either Clarke or Montgomery. According to an NFL source, these two players were platooning at the position during practice this week.
Clarke is the current starter, but he's been very inconsistent. Montgomery, a former Carolina Panther, was signed in September, and is now comfortable in the system. He started four games last year at left guard for the Panthers.
It's possible the Jets will start Clarke, and if he struggles, they will insert Montgomery.
This could also be a game-time decision.
But don't be shocked if Montgomery is the Jets starting left guard against Pittsburgh.
