Jets sign Darnell Bing to future contract

According to the NFL internal wire, the Jets have signed former USC safety Darnell Bing to a contract.

Bing was a third round pick of the Oakland Raiders two years ago, but had trouble staying healthy, and was eventually released. He spent some time with San Francisco in 2007.

The Raiders attempted to make him a linebacker, but the experiment didn't go well, and they moved him back to safety.

At 6-2, 220, Bing will like play safety for the Jets.
