Ben R says what Jets QB's should be thinking

Competing in the Super Bowl will be two outstanding tall receivers - the Giants' 6-6 Plaxico Burress and the Patriots' 6-5 Randy Moss. Any team that doesn't have at least one really tall receiver in their rotation is probably making a big mistake.

Tall receivers can be a quarterback's best friend because the QB's don't have to be as perfect with their throws. Also, they are great to have on fade routes. And we know the Jets love that route.

Steeler QB Ben Roethlisberger is begging his personnel department to get him one.

"I'm always going to ask for a tall receiver," Roethlisberger said to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "That's just me. Our receivers are unbelievable, but our tallest guy might be Hines. Or Santonio [Holmes]. Hines is going to say he's 6 foot, but he's 5-11."

While Ben probably shouldn't have said it (Ward is ticked off at the quote), he speaks the truth.

And the Jets are in same boat as the Steelers, with a bunch of receivers around 5-11.

And if Mike Tannenbaum really wants to do his quarterbacks a big favor, and we mean big, he would get them a receiver in the 6-4 to 6-6 range this off-season.
