Ellis Hobbs played with a sports hernia

In another example of the Patriots misleading the public and opponent on the injury report, cornerback Ellis Hobbs played the Super Bowl with a sports hernia. The announcement was made by Fox's Alex Marvez.

He is scheduled to have surgery in the coming weeks.

Hobbs had trouble changing direction and fell on Plaxico Burress' game-winning touchdown catch. There is a good chance it was because of the injury.

It's disgraceful that the Patriots handle injuries this way, and it's a hurts the player the most. Hobbs was clearly hobbling with the ailment, but since he wasn't listed, nobody knew about it.

Since the Jets model their program after New England, you can only hope they aren't pulling the same tactics.
