Jets need a big receiver so bad

Indianapolis - The Jets have a lot of needs, and you could make the argument one of their BIGGEST is for a BIG wide receiver. They met with one of the best.

Indiana wide receiver James Hardy had a meeting with the Jets. He is a 6-6, 220 pound target. As for his speed, that is a mystery right now. He said on Friday at the RCA Dome that he has never run the 40 before, so any listed time is bogus.

He has been working out in Tampa, and is happy with the times he has recorded, but when asked by JC what they were, he wouldn't divulge.

"You will have to wait and see," said Hardy. They were good times."

Hardy's forty time will go a long way in determining where he goes in the first round. If he runs well, he will likely go between 10-20.

Hardy is a fantastic athlete, who actually went to Indiana on a basketball scholarship, but eventually moved over to the gridiron.

Hardy did have an off-the-field issue at Indiana, so it remains to be seen if he will get downgraded on the Jets character-driven board.

But there is no question is would bring a dimension to their offense they could really use.
