Jets workout talented college ILB

According to an NFL source, the Jets recently worked out a linebacker who could be a middle-to-late round consideration for them.

The Jets visited recently with UNLV's Beau Bell.

Bell certainly is built to play inside linebacker in a 3-4 defense, at a thickly-built 6-1, 244 pounds. He also also has the ability to shed offensive linemen, an important characteristic to play 3-4 ILB.

Another good thing about Bell are his instincts. He has a "nose for the ball" as scouts like to say. While he didn't run at the combine due to an injury, he has been clocked at under 4.7 in the forty.

On the downside, he has been banged up a lot and there are some medical concerns. He also doesn't change direction that well and needs a lot of work in the weight room.

Bell might make sense for the Jets in the fourth round. They need an heir apparent to Eric Barton at the inside linebacker spot next to David Harris.
