Patriots cornerback Ellis Hobbs played in the Super Bowl with a torn labrum and a sports hernia, but wasn't listed on the injury report prior to the game. Wow!
"We keep things under wraps for a reason," said Hobbs about the Patriots clandestine approach. "We never want things to leak out. Teams can use it against us, and strategize for players that are going to potentially be there or potentially not be there."
So that means it's okay for a team to lie on an injury report?
Teams that use that injury report as a strategic tool need to be penalized by the league office. The Patriots aren't alone in this area. The other teams know who they are, and they need to knock it off.
