Please help the needy - bring non-perishables

JETS HOST FOOD DRIVE AS PART OF GREEN AND WHITE PRACTICE AUG. 2 AT SHUART STADIUM - Fans are asked to bring non-perishable food items

WHAT: New York Jets Green and White Practice, free and open to the public.

WHEN: Saturday, Aug. 2; Festivities start at 10 a.m., practice starts at 1 p.m.

WHERE: Shuart Stadium, on the Hofstra University campus.

The Food Drive:

Fans are asked to bring non-perishable food items as the Jets and A-1 First Class-Viking Moving and Storage host a food drive benefitting The INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network). The INN operates 19 soup kitchens and 25 shelters throughout Long Island.

About the Day:

Fans who attend will be able to enjoy Generation Jets Fest, the 2008 New York Jets Flight Crew signing autographs and performing routines. At halftime of the practice, the Jets will honor the organization's 40-year history at Hofstra University and their loyal fans in a ceremony featuring Jets Chairman and CEO Woody Johnson, Hofstra University President Stuart Rabinowitz and former Jet and Hofstra great Wayne Chrebet. Johnson will also share details on the team maintaining ties to Long Island.
