B-Schotty's connection to Mike McCarthy

How quickly will Brett Favre pick up Brian Schottenheimer's offense? Well, B-Schotty's background with Packers head coach Mike McCarthy should help.

"You know, Brian has a considerable history with Mike McCarthy," said Marty Schottenheimer, Brian's father, on Sirius NFL Radio. "I think the critical thing here is whether or not there is a considerable difference between what Mike is presently doing and what the Jets are doing. I don't think they are very different.

"I think they are very similar in many ways, terminology and all. The teaching by Brian would be very much like the teaching with Mike McCarthy so there's a benefit to that because there is the connection between the Packers and their offense and what the Jets are doing because of Brian's relationship with Mike."

Both McCarthy and Brian Schottenheimer were on the Kansas City Chiefs coaching staff together for the 1998 season under head coach Marty Schottenheimer. Brian's uncle, Kurt Schottenheimer, is the secondary coach under McCarthy in Green Bay.
