Baker gets new deal

Chris Baker received a contract extension on September 5th. The announcement was made by Adam Schefter.

The struggles of Bubba Franks might have contributed to this deal. Franks was outplayed by Jason Pociask in training camp.

Also, Baker's agent agreeing to a media gag order, helped precipitate a deal. Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum told Mark Feinsod to stop talking to the media about Baker, if he wanted to get his client a new deal, and the agent did just that.

According to Schefter's report, Baker can earn $9 million in new money in the near future if he reaches certain earmarks.
